The stars have always been fascinating to me. They are far away but shine brilliantly down to earth in all their glorious formations. The deep blues, black, and purply colors permeate the sky. I create mixed-media sculptures and paintings. Stars frequently make appearances in my work. I envisioned a rocky, molten, space-like atmosphere lit by the starry night for my sculpture. The painting plays with a surreal landscape with a star portal squared off in it. Whenever I am out at night, I look up to see the shining lights above to inspire and awe me.
