“As I paint the stars and night sky I marvel at how these are the same stars and night sky that have been painted by someone in the 1800’s. Generation upon generation for as far back as the first civilizations and even the cavemen that preceded them, we stare up at the same indifferent sky. It is a beautiful thing full of wonder and mystery. The setting of our most horrible nightmares and of our most beautiful dreams. As technology, art, and and even humans change and evolve we’ve all still shared the same vision of the same sky. As I stand here kicking up dust by the side of the road in New Jersey I wonder how it must be like to look up at the sky on Mars? I wonder who has looked upon the same stars, the same suns, in the past? Who will look upon the same sky in the future? Where will they be in the universe, in which universe. And will they remember us?”
