I have always been a photographer, capturing images of the Delta Works in the Netherlands with my first Fuji camera at the age of 16. Later I photographed my family and today I find my subjects primarily in the natural environment. I also like to express my love of nature in watercolor, based on my observations as a photographer. I am a self-taught artist.
My inspiration comes from the beauty of nature, its colors, its creatures and the landscape. The landscape changes with the seasons, and the light offers a different view throughout the day. The healing power of nature has been recognized throughout the ages, from Aristotle to Baratunde Thurston. Nature gives us power to center ourselves in the universe and reconnect with each other, so we can better deal with the stress in our lives.
