My work has been greatly influenced by the American Masters of the Impressionist and Post-Impressionist era. I am helplessly drawn to the human figure both in parts and whole. I am simply compelled to draw an image of a dangling foot, the folds of drapery upon a woman’s shoulders, the light across the bone structure of a weathered face. Using graphite or charcoal, my drawings become my own self revelations as I explore the beauty I see in the contours and structure of human beings. I strive to awaken that awareness and discovery for the viewer.
