I have always been curious about the world beneath my feet.  Walking to school through the park was a journey that took me through paths of yucky caterpillars. Ants marshaling their Army to move twigs, leaves that I used for pug noses and plump worms that looked like brown spaghetti.
My brothers were always digging worms for their fishing rods and they kept worms in a brown paper bag in their room (until my mom found them and threw them into the bushes by our apartment.}  I believe that in my paintings there is a mysterious depth to them that masks an under current of activity similar to what goes on beneath my feet added to  the roots and grasses and earth that have been full of life these many years.
