Most of my work created during the Covid pandemic expressed my thoughts during the terrible quarantine and growing death rates. I worked primarily in digital images locked down at home, without access to the studio for my printmaking work. My work, Speak, See, Hear No Evil also reflects the dire times in 2020 and the difficulties living in quarantine. Extreme politics was a continuing and an engulfing media focus in 2020. This was represented by my image Dystopia June 2020, which incorporated key words and statements made by the former president and the media.

At the beginning of the pandemic, I had kept a growing list of words that expressed the horror and despair related to 24/7 media coverage. I incorporated these words over images of the covid virus. As the pandemic developed, my list of covid related words heard daily in the news changed and included more statements of gratitude and honor to the heroes together with other identified society issues. My work, Covid 19 Words #4 was one of a series of my prints using the covid virus image and public comments as key elements of the work. Other works during this period have focused on lights, clouds, and water images as a base to establish mood and reflect the difficult psychological conditions, the climbing death rates and my responses to pandemic conditions in a more abstract manner. This is exemplified by the images Infinite Covid and Moving Glow.
