Jasper Johns. a source of powerful inspiration has said, “I don’t want my work to be an exposure of my feelings.” For me, my abstract work is saturated with deep personal raw expression unafraid to expose fears, longing, disappointment. hope, aspiration, curiosity and love. My conceptual art is my inner voice transformed into colors, shapes, objects and words. At times just a whisper or whimper is enough to express an idea. Other times, a throat busting, vein popping expression is needed to satisfy the inner urge to get my ideas, feelings, attitudes, observations, and strong opinions on to a surface be it canvas, birch panel, aluminum sheets or a found object. Through my art, I investigate rich personal experiences, deep emotions and a strong point of view, employing a diverse array of tools, including acrylics, oil stick silk screen, collage, found objects, fabric manipulation and much more.
