Danielle Corin Cartier – “Say Goodbye” acrylic paint and mixed media on found window panel, 30” x 30”, 2019

“Say Goodbye” is a mixed media painting that is comprised of various creation methods referencing the Northeast urban landscape. The work itself is completed on a window panel that I picked off the street in Camden, New Jersey. From the street, the window shout its overwhelming potential at me and I listened by taking it into the studio and giving it a new life. “Say Goodbye” is constructed out of a cut and paste mentality as well as various layered mixed media and printmaking techniques. The work itself employs creative methods that reference the street such as guerilla wheat pasting and the platform of the work is directly appropriated from the urban landscape of New Jersey.
