What does life feel like for the myriad of organisms that live underground? A pencil sketch of the roots of a garden weed led me to contemplate the world we don’t easily see but know to be teeming with life. Watercolor allowed me to further explore the possible shapes and feelings. Through this study of the subterranean habitat of creatures of all shapes and sizes, we can better appreciate the dirt under our feet.
