There are countless reasons that motivate me to create art: some of them are making our surroundings more beautiful; creating records of a specific time, place, person or object; and expressing and communicating ideas. Art inspires me and stimulates my mind. It relaxes me and provides an outlet for my creativity. I do not like to limit myself to one medium, style, or concept. One thing I know, I love color!
I like to experiment with as many techniques and mediums as possible. So, my work ranges from watercolors, pastels, graphite, acrylics to collages and various textiles.
One of the textile arts I fell in love with is felting. Felt, thru its versatile nature and various applications, is my favorite. I love everything about it: the texture, sculptural qualities and use of it as wearable art.
My knowledge, inspirations and ideas also constantly change. I get stimulated by people, nature, emotions, music colors and textures. I believe in mastering each technique or medium first, which then gives me freedom to experiment and be playful.
If a viewer stops for just a moment to reflect on a piece I have created and gets stimulated or inspired, then I have succeeded in my work.
