John Marron “Threshold to Everywhere” photograph

“Threshold to Everywhere” was taken or made in the Fall of 2017 at the Princeton Day School Bio-Dynamic Farm near an amazing sunset vegetable garden and an outdoor ecology classroom. William Blake famously painted an alchemist lantern man surrepticiously stepping through the membrane separating day from night with a covered fame. This rustic wabi sabi screen door, reminiscent of my Iowa youth andan herb-laced roll through poison ivy outside Baltimore on my Johns Hopkins graduation day, beckons to a fading blue sky and green hewn path beyond or maybe a promise of transcendance or never truly arriving anywhere? No bucket lists. No Shangrila. No Golden Ticket. Justaparigraha. Non-grasping. Standing on top of the world observing the edge. Journey without goal. Cornucopia of the present moment?
