My artistic activity often begins without any preconceived notions. My creative process starts as a play of sorts with various materials. This in turn gives me pleasure, experience, new understanding and knowledge as I keep experimenting, going through the dynamism of creation and destruction. The physical properties of the materials and my thoughts & concepts continue to intermingle. That’s when new realizations and forms evolve, resulting in a revelation of a new truth to me. This newly experienced invisible beauty of truth keeps acquiring a visible shape i.e. an object of art, which with continuous transformation enables me to convey my cognitive expression and in-turn self-realize.
The ‘Self Portrait’ in paper Mache’ is inspired from the myriad of questions life makes us face. Despite the realization of our limited, blocked senses and capabilities, we humans continue to grow, smile and enjoy our lives. We are able to find beauty and harmony despite all our limitations and the life goes on!
