Our daughter accepted a job at a level 1 trauma center in Fresno, California just before the pandemic hit the shores of the US. It was very difficult for us to know that she was heading into “the belly of the fire” 3000 miles away from home, but as time went on we all adjusted to this new normal. The national parks on the eastern border of California continue to provide her with a safe and peaceful place to escape, meditate and breath.
The photos she sent inspired this piece.
