Horror and absurdity seem to cross paths in many ways. I think they share a common origin in that they occur when something seems to exist outside of our usual sense of reality. When something can’t be explained using common norms and is frightening or dangerous it becomes a horror, when it’s not dangerous it occurs as absurd, unbelievable. Our past few years have seemed like a cross-breeding of the two.

Reality and sanity sometimes have a contentious relationship, each challenging the other. Since people live on ideas, beliefs and dreams as well as food we’re always going to be susceptible to being upended by the great unknown. Sitting on the edge of the world is what has informed these submissions.
