Enjoying others artwork and finding my own mark is very important to me. I entertain myself with explorative markmaking inspired by rural surroundings and human subconscious. The subconscious has a way with fixating us with peculiar subjects. I allow myself to be open to my subconscious, andrecognize what I like about certain things in life. When I am painting or drawing if I do not know why I enjoy a certain color, shape, or object, I create a composition with it. Artistry is forged through sensitive touch and the working and reworking of forms. My art iscompletely transformed from the initial point of engagement. The idea behind this practice is not necessarily the out-come, but the meditative process of creating itself. As an artist from the area, south jersey is a very diverse and its influence has afected my work. I am driving distance from Philadelphia, New York City, and Delaware. South Jersey is unique because it can be extremely rural and urban, and I like to carry all those textures, color, and mood into my work.
