“[overwhelm]” acrylic on canvas board, 10” H x 8” W, 2022, $175.00
Ever since I was a young girl art has moved me. Grappling with mental health and who I am meant spending hours in front of a canvas. Letting my emotions flow from me to the brush. From humble beginnings to a still humble present, I try to make my work speak for itself. My inspirations mostly come from my everyday. Fighting an ongoing battle with inner demons and finding the good in the world and in myself. I try to convey my struggles in a way that other people who are struggling can see and feel less alone. Mostly my art comes from my heart, it’s not always polished and pretty, being I never attended a formal art school and all my techniques are second hand and self taught, but it is always honest. From landscapes to portraits to everything in between I just want everyone to feel at home with my pieces, whether it brings about feelings of grief, happiness, healing or just plain understanding.
