We all learn early in school that trees convert sunlight into nutrients through photosynthesis. The work uses natural components gathered from volunteer work in Highland Park’s Native Plant Sanctuary plus other components to remind the viewer that the importance of this simplest of natural processes can be forgotten in the rush to compartmentalize our attention to the wild randomness of nature.
