This is a painting of the top section of the Town Hall in the New Brighton section of Staten Is. It was a straight-up, very tall building used at the turn of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. I had assumed it was a designated landmark, but about twenty years ago it was razed and now a very modern apartment building stands on the lot where so many people from the past had once walked.
