Brian McCormack “Point of Combustion” propane torch, pyro burning tool, paint on found wood, $150.00

I express my environmental awareness in regard to the destruction of old growth forests, by using wood scraps and salavaged furniture parts. I apply burning techniques along with brightly colored water based paints to represent the intensity of a forest fire. The torch acts like the broad strokes of watercolor, with the water acting as a mask, and the heated element of the burning tool creates the fine intricate details. My intent is not to paint the typical calendar landscape, but to incite the viewer to partake in their environmental responsibility.
